A live research project focused on understanding attendee experience signals and turning survey data into practical actions for stronger community events.
The objective of this research was to understand participant experiences, preferences, motivations, and challenges related to IT Community events. By analyzing feedback from community members and event participants, the study aims to identify opportunities to improve event quality, increase attendance, strengthen engagement, and support data-driven decision-making for future events.

This study used a quantitative survey-based research approach.

Improving regional accessibility and choosing easy-to-reach venues could have the greatest impact on attendance.

66 respondents identified location as a barrier to attendance, making it the biggest reported obstacle. Regional events should prioritize accessible venues near public transport.
83 respondents selected Career Development and 82 selected AI among their top interests. Events should combine expert talks with hands-on workshops, Q&A sessions, and practical activities.
102 respondents identified networking as a reason for attending. Structured networking time can turn events into stronger opportunities for meaningful connections and collaboration.
Our analysis of 133 responses identified five priorities that can strengthen future IT Community events and improve participant engagement.
Finding:
Location was the largest reported attendance barrier, with 66 responses.
Recommendation:
Expand events beyond Tashkent while making regional participation easier and more accessible.
Action:
Partner with local universities, colleges, technology hubs, and student communities when organizing regional events. Prioritize venues that are easy to reach and well known locally.
Finding:
Career Development received 83 votes, while AI received 82, showing strong demand for practical and applicable skills.
Recommendation:
Move beyond lecture-only formats and create more opportunities for active learning.
Action:
Include hands-on workshops, real-world case studies, Q&A sessions, coding/data challenges, LinkedIn sessions, and mini-projects.
Finding:
Networking was selected by 102 respondents, making it the strongest reported reason for attending.
Recommendation:
Treat networking as a core part of the event rather than an informal activity.
Action:
Introduce speed networking, field-based discussion groups, speaker networking, or dedicated LinkedIn connection sessions.
Finding:
Career Development received 83 votes, making it the most requested topic. In addition, 96 respondents selected career opportunities as a reason for attending.
Recommendation:
Develop a recurring career-development track addressing practical challenges faced by students and young professionals.
Action:
Organize sessions on LinkedIn profiles, CVs, portfolios, internships, interview preparation, career roadmaps, and conversations with industry professionals.
Finding:
Location was the biggest attendance barrier with 66 responses, while 44 respondents cited lack of time and 39 reported schedule conflicts. Among satisfied attendees, weekends were the most preferred schedule (74 responses).
Recommendation:
Design events around when and where participants can realistically attend.
Action:
Schedule more events on weekends, prioritize accessible venues near public transportation, and provide hybrid participation when travel or scheduling prevents in-person attendance.
